The third of my triptic series featuring :iconcre8vsteph:'s Digital Papercut Tutorial.

This one is my favorite of the three. I just happen to be a fan of having a full picture. I also like the colors for it.

I'm pretty sure my triptic is going to go over well in class ;)

AIEEE! Lauren, this looks beautiful! Great defined textures in your papers and a strong range of values and I love the octopus in the BG - he's subtle but an important part of the comp. It looks like you've taken very naturally to this technique (its addicting, no?). I'd love to see you doing more, maybe trying some different textures in the same comp. That way you can draw even more attention with a sharp texture over something more subtle, like a felt or tissue paper scan.

Also remember that you can cut holes in your shapes - what if the bubbles were made from a piece of light blue "paper" with holes cut for the highlights, then layered over a white piece of "paper"? Keep playing around!

<3 I love the octopus too. I appear to be drawing them a lot lately.
I'm totally in love with this stuff btw. I'm certainly going to do more. ;) I'll take your ideas into consideration. I'll have to go collect some interesting fabrics and papers. I might have some fluffy fleece stuff lying around that could be fun to use. Good idea for the bubbles too. I did cut away in some parts, but didnt really think of the uses for it. I think I only used the underlayering thing in the first picture on the top of the fishbowl. But I was impressed with the outcome. Wish I had thought of using that elsewhere too.

<3 Thanks for the help! And for coming up with the technique!
